To train surgeons in the safe and effective surgical treatment of lipedema using modern liposuction techniques grounded in anatomy and best practices.
Specific Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
- Differentiate lipedema from other adipose disorders and define surgical indications.
- Mark surgical zones precisely (thighs, calves, ankles, arms) based on anatomical and lymphatic considerations.
- Perform tumescent infiltration tailored for lipedema.
- Execute liposuction using appropriate cannulas and techniques that preserve lymphatics.
- Handle large-volume fluid management and postoperative care.
- Anticipate and manage intraoperative challenges and complications.
